Supporting productive investment aimed at business innovation
Blacks Srl, by investing in a new 3D scanning technology, has enhanced its business and strengthened its competitive advantage. The purchased scanner was integrated into the company's system according to Industry 4.0 principles, opening up new possibilities such as digitized checks of component compliance, product development, and more efficient reverse engineering.
Digital adaptation of manufacturing technologies in the composite materials industry
In the world of motorsports competition, there are structural component productions with a very high degree of craftsmanship where business process integration holds a significant competitive cue.
For this reason, Blacks has for years been committed to improving business digitization through the implementation of integrated process systems.
In this project, implemented with the support of European funds from the Emilia Romagna Region, Blacks aimed to enhance the sustainability of the company's growth process, modifying existing plants for their integration into the production process by bringing necessary modifications to interconnection in accordance with the requirements of Industry 4.0.
The changes make it possible to improve the monitoring of machinery operating parameters by moving from the current PLC-based operator control, manual entry of work cycles and offline data downloading, to a system that complies with Industry 4.0 requirements.
POR FESR EMILIA ROMAGNA 1.1.2
Project for the abatement of environmental impact both within the company's production cycles and with regard to the materials used
Description of the project
Blacks' target market is evolving toward a strong reduction in the environmental impact of both the manufacturing process and the materials themselves. Blacks has therefore decided to engage in a project aimed at innovation in sustainability by researching the sustainability of manufacturing stages and expanding the product range by including composites with reduced environmental impact.
Goals
Blacks wants to identify a production cycle that will reduce the raw materials used for mold making and the energy required for the production process. It also wants to carry out the study of composites with commitment of natural and recycled carbon fibers and bio-based matrices.
Results
With the results of this project, Blacks aims to enhance technological and innovative expertise, fostering the composites industry's transition to greater sustainability.
Project co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund.
